Social Media Marketing Q & A

Social Media Marketing Q & A

After a very successful presentation about Social Media Marketing at the Fairfield Public Library on Oct 4th, we had a lot of great questions that we wanted to share with everyone.

.

Q.

Can I remain anonymous on foursquare and Facebook if I have a business page?

A.

Yes, you can remain anonymous on Facebook. Just lock down your personal Facebook settings that administer your business page and be sure not to like your own business page. Foursquare is harder to remain anonymous. I guess if you’re a business owner and you set up a page for your business and allow people to check in but you don’t do any checking into other places then you can remain anonymous.

Q.

If I have a Facebook page that offers the same service to many different industries but that service is customized for the individual client, do I need separate business pages for each industry?

A.

IBM offers the same services to many different industries. Although they customize their solution for each unique client, they still advertise their service the same way across all industries. Just be sure you make it clear the solutions are customized.

Q.

What is Foursquare and how does it help businesses.

A.

Foursquare is a social media site that allows people to “check into” restaurants, stores, and other businesses. When you “check in” it shares it with your friends and sometimes you can get great deals from the businesses that you “check into.” Foursquare can help businesses engage with their customers, and attract new ones.

Q.

Can I have a Facebook business page and allow people to like it but not allow each other to see who else is liking it and having conversation?

A.

This is not possible. The point of Facebook and other social media sites is to allow interaction between people and companies from all around the world. If you want to have conversations with people and not let anyone else see, then I recommend that they send you a Facebook message through your personal profile.
